I think the main advantage of TV advertising is that when people watch TV, they are usually totally focused on the TV show. When there is a commercial break, they are usually still watching the TV, so the advertiser will get the consumer completely focused on their product. I think the main disadvantage is that the consumer will only see that particular advertisement once, as it’s unlikely they will watch the TV show a second time.
I think internet advertising would be less productive, but it’s probably a lot cheaper. Do people really pay attention to internet advertising or do they just click the mouse to close it? The advantage it does have over TV advertising is that people might see the advertisement over and over again, every time they log onto the particular website showing the advertisement. Most of them surf the same sites over and over again.
